So, 'Tom Thumb Meets Thumbelina' is this interesting blend of animation and family themes. It’s kind of whimsical and charming, set in the Great Meadow where our little fairy, Thumbelina, lives. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, but you get this nice contrast between the tiny characters and their big ambitions. Tom, who serves King Richard, discovers this rather ambitious scheme by Prince Medwin to build a huge castle in their serene world. What stands out is how they tackle the theme of size and significance; it’s a lovely little narrative that resonates. The animation itself has a quaint, hand-drawn feel, which adds to its charm. Not bad for its time, really.
