'Tong Tong und die Rache der Faustgiganten' is a quirky blend of action and comedy that kind of straddles that line between martial arts homage and goofy adventure. You've got Master Fu guiding Tong Tong, who's not your typical hero, really. He hesitates a lot, which adds an interesting layer to his character. The pacing feels a bit off at times, but it’s like they’re trying to balance action with the comedic beats. The practical effects are decent, giving that handmade charm that CGI often lacks. The villain, Power Chow, is over-the-top, which somehow works well against Tong Tong’s more grounded approach. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, yet there’s a strange earnestness to it that makes it distinct in the genre.
