Torque is a wild ride, blending action and comedy in a way that's pretty unique for its time. Joseph Kahn really leans into that high-energy vibe, with some over-the-top visuals and practical effects that, while maybe not the best, have a certain charm. The pacing is frenetic, filled with lots of motorcycle chases and a fun, almost cartoonish approach to the biker gang rivalry. Ice Cube and Martin Henderson bring a certain charisma, with Cube delivering a particularly memorable performance. It doesn't take itself too seriously, which is refreshing. The film's distinctive style—think flashy edits and a rock-heavy soundtrack—makes it stand out in the mid-2000s action landscape, even if it's not everyone's cup of tea.
