So, 'Tourettes: Teenage Tics' is this documentary that really gets into the life of a young kid, Rory Brown, who’s dealing with Tourette Syndrome. It’s raw, you know? The camera captures his struggles in a secondary school setting, where his tics have really intensified. What stands out is how it juxtaposes Rory's everyday experiences with the heavy legacy left by the earlier BBC documentary featuring John Davidson. The pacing feels genuine and at times, almost disorienting, much like what Rory must be feeling. You can sense the pressure cooker atmosphere of being a teenager while grappling with such a condition. It’s a perspective you don’t often see, and it’s just refreshing to have this kind of openness in a doc.
Unique portrayal of Tourette Syndrome.Intimate look at a teenager's struggles.Connections to John Davidson's earlier work.
