Transgression is this tense little piece from 2011 that really dives into the chaos of a home invasion gone wrong. You’ve got Matthew and Elena, everyday folks, thrown into this nightmare when four burglars break in. It sets up a gripping atmosphere, the pacing of the film keeps you on edge, with each moment layered in suspense. It’s interesting how the script reveals the characters’ true natures under pressure; mistrust and betrayal bubble up in ways you don’t expect. The performances are raw and visceral, and the practical effects do a nice job of grounding the horror without being over the top. There's an unsettling realism to it that makes you think long after the credits roll.
Focus on psychological tension over action.Good for discussions on character development under stress.Notable for its practical effects and grounded performances.
