Troop Beverly Hills is this quirky mix of adventure and comedy, set against the backdrop of the overly glamorous Beverly Hills. You’ve got Shelley Long, who brings this frantic energy to her character as she juggles divorce and a troop of Wilderness Girls. The pacing has this nice ebb and flow—sometimes it feels chaotic, but in a good way. It captures that late '80s vibe well with its pastel colors and over-the-top fashion. The performances are a bit overexaggerated, but it fits the tone. Plus, the practical effects during the camping scenes have a certain charm that’s refreshing. The film really explores themes of self-discovery and community, all while being light-hearted and fun in a very specific way.
