So, 'Trust in Me' is this gritty TV movie that really nails that tense atmosphere typical of 90s crime dramas. Set against the backdrop of Vancouver's underbelly, it weaves a tale of moral ambiguity and the thrills of undercover work. Officer Dylan Gray, played with a nice intensity, finds himself pulled back into that world when a long-lost friend resurfaces, which of course complicates everything. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but it adds to that sense of urgency and danger. There are some practical effects that keep the action grounded, and you can feel the weight of the rivalry between the gangs and the cops. It’s not groundbreaking, but it definitely carves out a niche in the genre.
