Truth (2018) is this peculiar blend of comedy and horror that pokes at the notion of conjugal duty in a really offbeat way. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, but that's part of its charm, I guess. The atmosphere is set with practical effects that lean more towards the absurd than the terrifying, which keeps things light even when the subject matter gets a bit dark. The performances are a mixed bag; some really nail that deadpan humor while others might come off a little too much. It's distinctive for sure, as it flips the script on traditional horror tropes and makes you chuckle while contemplating deeper themes about marriage and obligation. Definitely not your run-of-the-mill flick.
