Truth or Dare (2018) plays on that classic party game premise but twists it into something darker. The atmosphere is pretty tense, especially as the stakes rise and the group dynamics shift. You can feel the fear building, and it’s interesting how the game itself becomes a character of sorts. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but it keeps you guessing about who’ll crack under pressure first. The practical effects, while not groundbreaking, do add a nice touch to some of the more intense moments. The performances can vary, but honestly, some of the cast manage to bring a surprising depth to their roles amidst the chaos. It’s not your typical horror fare, which is what makes it stand out—even if it has its flaws.
