U-Man is an interesting blend of action and comedy, featuring Anthony Wong in an offbeat role as an undercover cop masquerading as a priest. The film's tone has this quirky vibe, with Sam Lee as his sidekick trying to pass as a teacher, which often leads to some real laugh-out-loud moments. You get this mix of light-hearted antics peppered with some action sequences that keep things moving. The performances of Gillian Chung and Rachel Fu Tin Wing add a fun layer, although I wouldn’t say they steal the show. It's got a certain charm, and the pacing feels a bit erratic at times, but it’s all part of the ride. Definitely a unique piece in the Hong Kong cinema landscape of the early 2000s.
