So, "Ultraman Neos Pilot" is an interesting piece. It’s not your typical Ultraman fare, more like a glimpse into what could have been. Practical effects give it a gritty feel, though they definitely show the budget constraints of the time. The pacing is a bit uneven; some moments drag while others burst with energy. It’s a shame that TBS didn’t greenlight the full series, because the characters had potential. The pilot’s atmosphere feels raw and experimental, which makes it distinctive among other Ultraman entries.
