So, 'Uncle David' is quite the unsettling watch. The film dives deep into the psyche of Ashley, whose childlike innocence clashes with the dark reality of his relationship with his uncle. Gary Reich really crafts an atmosphere that’s both unnerving and intimate, making it hard to look away. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the tension to build in such a way that you’re almost anticipating the next twist. It’s raw, especially in its portrayal of manipulation and the blurred lines between love and control. The performances are gripping, particularly the dynamic between Ashley and David, which feels both tragic and, at times, grotesque. There's a sense of dread that lingers with you long after the credits roll. It’s not your typical horror-thriller, that’s for sure.
