Undercover X is this intriguing blend of action and Zen philosophy, or at least that's how I see it. It plays out across these vibrant cities - Hollywood, Seoul, Tokyo - and you really feel the contrast in locales. The pacing is a bit erratic, which adds to its charm, I think. Scott Shaw's direction leaves some room for interpretation, and the film has this raw, almost guerrilla-style vibe. The practical effects are noteworthy, gritty but not overdone, which enhances the overall atmosphere. The lead performance kind of wanders between bewilderment and determination, fitting the story's surreal path. It’s not your standard action flick, that’s for sure. Definitely something to ponder over after the credits roll.
