Undersea Super Train: Marine Express has this intriguing vibe, mixing animation with fantasy and a dash of sci-fi. Satoshi Dezaki’s direction really brings out the whimsical atmosphere, and the visuals are memorable, especially for the time. The pacing can feel a bit uneven, but that’s part of its charm, right? The train itself is almost a character, transporting both passengers and viewers into this underwater world filled with ancient secrets and colorful creatures. The voice acting adds a certain warmth, though some performances can be a bit overdone. It's interesting how the film tries to balance adventure with themes of civilization and decay. Definitely not your typical animated fare from the late '70s.
