Untitled from 2006 is one of those rare dramas that really digs into the murky waters of existence. The story centers around Molise, who's in this dreary place in life, and then he meets a striking woman that seems to change everything. But, as you dive deeper, the narrative takes some unexpected turns into themes of death and what comes after. The pacing might throw you at first, almost languid, but that serves to heighten the tension. There's a certain rawness in the performances too, which adds to the film's gritty realism. What stands out here is how it handles perception versus reality, and that lingering atmosphere stays with you long after it ends.
