Vampire's Embrace is this curious mix of horror and romance, with a bit of camp thrown in. The setup is classic - teenagers disturb a crypt and wake up two long-dead sisters, Angela and Cassan. Angela's romance with Bob, a struggling stockbroker, gives a strange depth to the whole undead thing, which is a bit unexpected. The practical effects, while not groundbreaking, have a certain charm, and you can tell they put some effort into the vampire makeup. The pacing has its lulls, but there’s a tension that builds as Angela balances her love life with her sister's sinister nature. It’s a bit uneven, sure, but that’s part of the movie's character. There's a definitely unique vibe throughout.
