So, 'Voices of Iraq' is something else. It’s not your typical documentary. You’ve got these raw, unfiltered perspectives from ordinary Iraqis, filmed during a time of war, which gives it this genuine immediacy. The pace is a bit erratic, reflecting the chaos of their lives, but it all comes together to create a haunting atmosphere. The way they use digital cameras, over 150 of them distributed throughout the country, really adds a grassroots feel that’s hard to shake off. You can sense the urgency and the pain in their voices, which I find incredibly powerful. It's distinct in its approach, offering a mosaic of life in Iraq that feels both personal and, in a way, universal.
