Walk the Dog paints a rainy day in Zagreb that feels almost palpable. Janko is this relatable guy, trying to make sense of his life, and the slow pacing really lets you feel his struggles. The tension between wanting connection, especially with Iva, and the weight of family obligations, especially with Franjo, makes for a raw and real exploration of relationships. The performances, especially the subtleties in Janko’s demeanor as he navigates through awkwardness and hope, are really striking. It’s the kind of film that lingers with you, making you feel each drop of rain like a metaphor for life's ongoing challenges. Not flashy, but it brings a sense of authenticity that sticks around long after the credits roll.
