Waning Moon is an interesting blend of drama and social commentary, with a plot that twists around relationships formed out of financial desperation. The rich lady's motives are far from altruistic, which adds layers to her character. The pacing can feel languid at times, which some might find tedious, but it really lets the tension build in unexpected ways. The performances here are a mixed bag; the leads do a solid job, but it's the supporting cast, particularly the gardener, that steals the show with a more nuanced portrayal. The cinematography gives you that cozy yet oppressive atmosphere, which reflects the characters' emotional states. Definitely a piece that sticks with you, though not always for the right reasons.
