So, 'We Were Here' is something you don't see every day. It's set in this decaying Indian town, which gives it a really raw, grounded vibe. The story revolves around three retired guys who, instead of just sitting around, decide to protest against the encroachment of machines on their livelihoods. They do this by hilariously pretending to be household appliances. The humor is a bit absurd, but it works well with the underlying seriousness of job displacement and human connection. The pacing is leisurely, allowing the characters' quirks to shine through. You get a good mix of comedy and drama. The performances are solid, and there's a certain charm to the practical effects they use for the appliances.
