So, Welcome to Willits: After Sundown is kind of a curious piece. It throws you into the depths of Northern California's woods, where this guy Brock is stuck in a cabin, waiting for his buddy with some shady drug deal. The tension builds gradually as night creeps in, and you can really sense Brock's growing dread. The atmosphere is thick, almost claustrophobic, with practical effects that have that gritty charm you'd expect from indie horror. The alien angle is... well, it has its moments, though some might find it a bit underdeveloped. Performances vary, but there’s a rawness that adds a certain authenticity. It's definitely a unique blend of horror and sci-fi, not your typical creature feature, which sets it apart in small ways.
