Wendehorn takes you on a slow-burning descent into dread. Tara’s journey into these forbidden woods is hauntingly atmospheric, with just the right amount of tension bubbling under the surface. The pacing lingers, almost methodical, allowing the eeriness to seep into your bones. The film leans heavily on practical effects, which are striking and visceral, really adding to that sense of dread. Performances are raw and authentic; you feel Tara's desperation and fear. The themes of obsession and the unknown are palpable, making it distinct in its execution. It doesn’t rush to reveal its secrets, which might frustrate some, but I think it really pays off in terms of mood and immersion. Definitely a unique entry in the horror genre.
