When Will I Be Loved is an interesting exploration of desire and identity. Toback's script has a rawness to it, and the way it unfolds feels quite unhurried, almost like a conversation that stretches out too long but is still compelling. Neve Campbell gives a layered performance, not just playing a woman in crisis but showing the complexities of being wanted and wanting. The atmosphere is pretty tense, with a sort of seductive menace woven through the narrative. It definitely raises questions about fidelity and self-discovery without giving you all the answers, which might frustrate some but left me thinking. The pacing may feel slow to some, but that’s part of its charm—it's a character study at heart.
