So, 'Wimp' is an interesting little drama that really captures the awkwardness of growing up. It’s centered around Felix, a kid on the verge of adolescence, who gets some cash for his 11th birthday. He’s after that Cristiano Ronaldo soccer ball, which sort of represents the innocence of youth, but there’s this heavy backdrop of peer pressure looming over him. The older kids throw around ideas of losing virginity, which adds this tension that feels very raw and relatable. The performances are decent, and the pacing kind of mirrors that unsure feeling of being a kid – sometimes it drags a bit, but in a way that feels genuine. Not a lot of frills, but it has this everyday realism that sticks with you.
