So, "Wish" (2018) is an interesting one, really. The animation style has a sort of whimsical charm, and you can see that they really lean into the idea of magic and hope. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, but it does build a nice tension as the 'wish agents' scramble to make their deadline. The themes of desire and the consequences of wishes are explored in a way that feels light yet gives you something to chew on. The character designs stand out, too, with a vibrant color palette that kind of draws you in. It’s not groundbreaking or anything, but there’s a certain quaintness in how it tackles the idea of dreams and aspirations.
