Wolves of Wall Street is an interesting blend of corporate drama and horror. Jeff Allen, played with a certain naïveté, dives into the cutthroat world of stockbroking, and the film's atmosphere is thick with tension and ambition. The pacing does a good job of reflecting the fast-paced life of Wall Street, but there's a darker undertone – this transformation into a werewolf serves as a metaphor for moral decay and the primal instincts that come with greed. The practical effects used during the transformation scenes are notably well-executed, offering a visceral, unsettling experience. Performances are striking, particularly as Jeff wrestles with his new identity. It's the thematic exploration of power and predation that truly sets this one apart from your average horror flick.
