So, Woody Woodpecker (2017) is an interesting take on the classic character. Directed by Alex Zamm, you really get that mix of animation and live-action, which can be hit or miss. It's got this light-hearted vibe—Woody’s antics are just as zany as you'd expect, but the turf war with the lawyer adds a bit of tension. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, but it kinda fits with the chaotic energy Woody brings. The themes of home and environmentalism are there, wrapped in some silly shenanigans. While not groundbreaking, it's definitely distinct with its colorful visuals and those classic slapstick moments. It’s worth watching if you're a fan of the original shorts, even if it doesn't quite capture that vintage charm.
