WWII From Space is quite the interesting take on the classic war documentary. Simon George’s direction employs some pretty striking CGI to give you this bird’s-eye view of the war that’s, well, a bit different than your usual historical recount. The pacing flows quite nicely, mixing significant battles and events with a broader global perspective that connects the dots in ways you might not have considered before. The atmosphere is immersive, using visuals to draw you in while the narrative does a decent job of maintaining a sense of urgency and gravity. It’s less about individual heroics and more about the overarching conflict, which, in my opinion, gives it a distinctive edge among the countless WWII docs out there.
