X-treme Weekend offers this offbeat blend of dark comedy and survival horror, which is frankly a bit rare. The pacing is all over the place, but in that good way that keeps you guessing. The practical effects are low-budget but effective, adding a grittiness that feels right for the story. Themes of betrayal and friendship are explored, albeit in this twisted sense. The performances are a mixed bag, but there’s something oddly charming about it all. It’s the kind of film you either get or you don't.
