Yehoshua Yehoshua is one of those comedies that revels in its own absurdity. Avri Gilad brings a quirky charm to Joshua, a randy virgin tangled up in the world of erotica. The humor has a certain rawness, and the film doesn’t shy away from exploring sexuality, but it does so with a playful, almost whimsical tone. The pacing can feel a bit uneven, with moments that drag just as you’re getting into the groove. There's an odd chemistry between Joshua and Boaz that adds a strange depth to the narrative. It’s not groundbreaking, but it's a curious slice of late '80s Israeli cinema, wrapped up in its own unique style. Definitely a conversation starter, if nothing else.
