Young Guns II has a gritty vibe that builds on the first film but takes its own path. You get a mix of action and a kind of romanticism about the Wild West that’s hard to shake off. The performances are solid, with Emilio Estevez as Billy the Kid really owning the role again. There's a nice chemistry among the cast, particularly with Lou Diamond Phillips as Chavez. The pacing feels like it meanders a bit, but it allows for some character moments that you don’t often see in westerns. Plus, the landscapes are striking. There’s a kind of nostalgic charm to the film, even if it doesn't quite capture the spark of its predecessor. Worth a watch if you appreciate the genre.
