Zombie Night is one of those under-the-radar horror flicks that captures that gritty, low-budget aesthetic quite well. The film has a kind of raw energy fueled by practical effects that really stand out, especially in a time when CGI was becoming the norm. The pacing is a bit uneven but it adds to the tension as we follow these two families trapped in their homes, trying to survive the onslaught of the undead. The performances are a mixed bag but there's a certain charm in their desperation. What makes it distinctive, I think, is its approach to the zombie genre—it's more about the human struggle against fear and the unknown, rather than just the gore. The atmosphere is thick with impending doom, which really keeps you on edge throughout.
