Zomblogalypse is a quirky blend of comedy and horror that extends the charm of its web series roots into a feature format. Directed by Hannah Bungard, the film dives into the absurdity of surviving a zombie apocalypse, all through the lens of a video blog. The pacing has this delightful back-and-forth rhythm, with moments of sheer panic cutting into hilariously awkward interactions between the three leads. Practical effects are used sparingly, but they pop up at just the right times, adding a layer of authenticity and humor. Performances are delightfully off-kilter, capturing that 'we're all in this together' vibe, even in the face of brain-eating horrors. It's a unique take on the genre that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still manages to nail the survival aspect.
Engaging performances from the main trio.Clever mix of humor and horror tropes.Interesting commentary on survival and community.
