BIOGRAPHY

Shin Adachi, born in 1973 in Tottori Prefecture, has made a significant impact on Japanese cinema through both his writing and directing. A graduate of the Japan Academy of Moving Images, Adachi initially honed his craft as an assistant director before stepping into the spotlight with his first major script, the 2004 comedy *Mask de 41*. However, it was his acclaimed script for the 2014 film *100 Yen Love* that truly established him as a force in the industry, earning him a Japan Academy Award and a dedicated following among film collectors. In 2016, Adachi took the leap into directing with *14 That Night*, a semi-autobiographical teen comedy that showcases his unique storytelling style. Collectors are particularly drawn to *The Catch Man* (2006), a film that has gained a cult status for its offbeat narrative and clever character development. These releases, combined with Adachi's distinctive voice in storytelling, make his work highly sought after in the physical media community, where collectors appreciate both the artistic merit and the cultural significance of his films.
